Shadow people are believed to be evil spirits according to the lore of their existence. Having experienced contact with one such creature I can attest to the fact that they do exist and while not wholly malicious they do possess a certain air of a spiritual trickster. That is to say, they cannot interfere with your freewill (will not attach unless given permission), and will cause great havoc through deception if attached to an individual.

Shadow People Explainedshadow people, psychic parasites, paranormal

In ancient lore, shadow people are considered to be demons summoned through black magic or similar ritual to wreck havoc on an intended victim. More modern and scientific approaches have attempted to isolate this phenomenon as nothing more than the product of optical illusions.

In addition, yet another explanation attributed to this process is the prospect of hypnagogia. Hypnagogia is a state of mind usually accompanying the process of first awakening. During this period it’s not unusual for an individual to experience something called a waking dream wherein the imagery can take on a sensation of being all too real. [1. Jenkins, G (2005). Florida's Ghostly Legends and Haunted Folklore. Sarasota, FL: Pineapple Press. ISBN 9781561643271. Retrieved 2010-03-31]

In any event, wherein the individual does experience this paranormal event, it should be treated as a very genuine encounter for that individual and as such ought to be respected as an actual haunting or visitation by a spiritual entity. In-other-words don’t be so quick to dismiss the experience that it leaves the individual with more questions than answers or more fear than certainty.

As a rule, shadow people are there to cause havoc, not necessarily physical harm. If physical harm does occur it’s usually the result of the individual’s reaction more so than any direct action of the shadow entity. Their presence is much like a parasite feeding off the negative energy of its host. The closer this entity can get to their host the greater the chaos it can create and feed off of.

What to Expect of Shadow People

To come in contact with a shadow person can be very frightening to the unaware. At first you may get glimpses of them through your peripheral vision as dark silhouettes cast against a light background or you might even see them fleetingly at night, usually as dense black spaces in the dark accompanied by an equally impenetrable feeling of apprehension.

Shadow people may try to make direct contact through a dream or astral projection at some point in order to grant permission for their entry and/or attachment. If you see them in a dream they will generally appear as a dark gray mass of energy with generic human features, i.e. arms, legs, body, head, face, smile, etc. In the case where they do present themselves in this manner, remain calm and demand that they leave your presence immediately without question.

Have you ever wanted to develop your psychic abilities but were a little unsure exactly where to start or how? Perhaps you’ve been experiencing a lack of confidence in stepping out and trusting your intuitive nature because it all seems a bit too overwhelming. Yes, many of us have had those first time jitters; feeling like a deer caught in the headlights. With a little practice and the right tools, even the most psychically challenged can begin to greatly hone their abilities, especially when the right method is employed.tarot reading, tarot cards

Ad hoc Psychic Tarot is an exceptional method to that end; that when properly incorporated into a reading will not only greatly enhance your innate spiritual connection but will naturally boost your intuitive self-confidence as well. While traditional Tarot presents a meaningful and well established layout to follow, the ad hoc method is aimed at freeing you to include a more dynamic and interpretive approach to your readings. Consider ad hoc similar to riding a bike with training wheels; you might not be all too certain you have what it takes to make the ride on your own, but the extra support is great to have when you really need it the most.

Beginning the Reading

As with any Tarot reading, have the querent hold the cards while concentrating on his or her question. This short period of time provides your client with an important moment to gather and focus their intentions for the reading. After about 15 to 30 seconds, retrieve the deck from the querent and start shuffling the cards. As you do this, pay close attention to any impressions you may be getting from the cards; allowing yourself to connect to their energies.

Some readers may be a little reluctant to allow their clients to touch or hold the cards for one reason or another; however, let me assure you that your cards can be easily cleansed of any residual energy and restored to their former state at any time. When you’re finished with a reading, simply cup the deck between your hands and visualize a field of white light surrounding and purifying them. Do this for about 30 seconds or until you feel the cards have been sufficiently cleansed of residual energy.

Having the client hold the cards is a very important part in the reading process as it provides you and the querent a moment of clarity from which the reading can proceed. In addition to the clarity, it will also facilitate a greater connection to the energy flow that is present; ensuring that the continuity and cohesiveness of your reading maintains a high level of integrity throughout.

If you want to see how important the nature of this connection is, find someone who seems to have an intense capacity for concentration. Ask them to hold the cards while attentively focusing their energy upon them for about a minute. After you retrieve the cards, take note of any immediate sensations you receive such as the quality; whether weak or strong. Next, compare that to a more lax and carefree individual, repeating the same exercise. The differences may be subtle, but with careful discernment you should be able to sense definite variations between the two subjects.

Ad hoc Placement Method

To help keep things organized at this point, select a layout that you’re either comfortable with or seems suitable for the question being asked. One layout I personally like to use is the Celtic Cross which comprises all the elements needed to cover most questions that can be asked; i.e. past, present, future, above, below, covering, and outcome. Just as the cards’ symbolism communicates specific elements of a reading, the same can be said of an organized layout. By establishing a well organized framework for your reading you’ll be providing a great medium through which your intuitive and more spontaneous side can anchor the results.

Now that you’ve connected to the querent’s energies through the cards, you’ll want to start being sensitive to their pull. This pull is what I like to refer to as the card whisperer effect; carefully listening to which card is speaking and allowing them to direct their placement on the table. This pull can feel much like a tug or push me pull me sensation, gently guiding you in a specific direction and usually accompanied by a sensation of yes here or not there.
